Yep, a bowl of bananas. Canon G1X, f 2.8, 1/40. ISO 200.

February 27: Shadows and Textures
Snow, ice, asphalt, bright sun and shadows. A metaphor for life? Nah, just something seen on my morning walk with the dogs. Canon G1X, f 5.6, 1/160, ISO 100.
February 26: Selfie
My head is full of mucus. Canon G1X, f 2.8, 1/6, ISO 100 (camera resting on a small plastic container of salad dressing)
February 25: A Friend is Found
Luna was happy to find an old friend that had been buried in the snow. There was much rejoicing. Canon G1X, f 5.6, 1/1250, ISO 100

February 24: Working Steel
One of the best things about the house we bought a few years ago is the amazing basement... it included a bench grinder which I have definitely used! Here, I'm grinding a full-sized wrench to be a thin cone wrench for my freecoaster (if you don't know what that means, don't worry about it). Canon G1X, f 2.8, 1/5, ISO 100.

February 22: Footprints in the Sand
This is my interpretation of the Footprints in the Sand poem, without the sand. It's interpretive, deal with it. Canon 6D, f 4.0, 1/6, ISO 100.
February 21: My Happy Place
Everyone has a happy place... someplace they like to go physically or just mentally... someplace that allows you to clear your mind. For me, it's behind (or in front of, or straddling) these handlebars. This bike calms me, centers me, and allows me to think without really thinking. Some people have yoga, some people have mediation, I have flatland. Canon G1X, f 2.8, 1/40, ISO 400.
February 20: Enough II
Can't wait for the warmer weather and the melting! Just about a month until spring! Canon G1X, f 2.8, 1/250, ISO 400
February 19: Neighborhood Menace
He may look innocent, but he's (she?) a maniac, and his partner in crime (not in the photo) is a maniac too. Well, not that I've ever encountered either one on the streets, but their bark reverberates through the neighborhood. And they bark at EVERYTHING. My dogs go insane when we have to walk by their house. Gary gets scared and wants to run away, while Luna gets puffed up and wants to pee right in front of their house, in an act of defiance. Canon G1X, 1/1250, f 6.3, ISO 400

February 18: The Long Drive
Deciding to drive home from North Conway in the peak of a snow storm may have not been the smartest idea I've ever had. But, I've driven through all conditions, all over the US and in many other parts of the world. Slow, steady, and with caution is how I go, and the drive that normally takes 2.5hrs took about six hours. Oh well, a good audio-book and some patience got me through it. Check out this quick video to see what it was like... Canon G1X, f 9.0, 1/5 sec, ISO 12800

February 16: XC Skiers
Plenty of people out and about in Bradley Palmer State Park today... can't wait for this snow to be gone. Canon 6D, f 5.6, 1/3200, ISO 320
February 14: The Light
Not exactly a "Valentine" photo, but there's something romantic about the street light, right? Right? Canon G1X, f 9.0, 1/500, ISO 500

February 11: Untitled
Untitled (it's what an "artist" does when he/she can't think of a title). Canon G1X, f 2.8, 1/250, ISO 100

February 9: Cyclocross World Championships
You probably didn't know that I traveled to Hoogerheide in the Netherlands to check out the Cyclcocross World Championships. Well, I did, and the photo above proves it. Don't believe me? Check out the race video here on Velo News: http://velonews.competitor.com/2014/02/video/video-stop-motion-lego-recap-of-stybar-vs-nys_316117 Anyway, after going to the race last year, I certainly didn't want to miss it in 2014! Canon 6D, Macro Lens, f 2.8, 1/13, ISO 100.

February 8: Democracy
Today was the vote for the referendum affecting the Brimbal Ave interchange. The neighborhood simply wants a more thoughtful approach to development in the area without negatively impacting the quality of life. Up until recently, plans for commercial development have been behind closed doors and with an apparent bias towards developers rather than residents. Here, Dan DeAngelis braves the cold with many other volunteers to have their voice heard outside the voting at Beverly High School. See more at http://savebrimbalave.org/ Results are still pending while this is posted, but two "no" votes came from my house. Canon G1X, f 6.3, 1/640, ISO 200.
February 7: Ice Floe
I'm getting pretty sick of the cold weather, but these ice formations were kind of cool... Canon 6D, f 4.0, 1/160th, ISO 200.

February 6: A Day at the ICA
Jean and I ventured in to Boston to check out some of the exhibits at the Institute of Contemporary Art. We say lots of cool things, and there will be more pics forthcoming. For now, this is Jean trying to take in this Nick Cave sculpture. Again, more is coming. Canon 6D, f 4.0, 1/160, ISO 8000
February 5: Snow Day
The dogs have a love/hate relationship with snow. They enjoy (I think) running around and frolicking, but then, they get a little fed up with dealing with it. Here, Luna is storming through the snow, on the prowl. See more here. Canon 6D, f 6.3, 1/125, ISO 200.

February 4: Internetus Interruptus
It seems like it's been months of road and utility work being done on my street. Well, it has been months... months of road closures, detours, and whacky traffic patterns. We've had our gas service interrupted, and every day there is some frozen police officer directing traffic. Today, though, inconvenience reared its ugly head in the form of my Comcast service (phone and Internet) being temporarily shut off. I got the shakes and jitters, but service was back up before I developed a seizure, and my iPhone got me through... Shot through my car window, Canon G1X, f2.8, ISO 200 1/1600sec.
February 3: Boba Fett Lunar Silhouette
This is what Dog The Bounty Hunter will morph into in the future. Canon 6D, f 4.0, 1/4 second, ISO 100.

February 2: Good vs Evil
Many epic battles were waged today after the negotiations between the forces of good and evil broke down. Some conflicts can only be solved through force. Canon 6D, f 22, 5 seconds, ISO 100.

January 31: Big Bear Black Stout
Friday night... after a good movie at the Warwick in Marblehead (Philomena), Jean and I stopped off at Soma for a drink. As a dark beer aficionado, I approve of the Big Bear Black Stout. Canon G1X, f 2.8, 1/6, ISO 800.
January 30: Peppers
Peppers. I don't like peppers. In fact, I don't even like the smell. But, it seems like peppers end in just about everything. I pick 'em out. Annoying? Maybe, but it's my food, right? Canon G1X, f 2.8, 1/30th, ISO 800.
